Easy Winter Hair Care for Women with Athletic Lifestyles

 


Having a background in Cosmetology and being a Surfer, I've had to learn how numerous ingredients work well together, to grow or thicken curly hair textures. Learning the proper hair care for all types of diverse types of Clients.

The one thing we all have in common is our active lifestyles. Insert the saying here, your vibe attracts your tribe. Some are super athletes doing triathlons, some travel to do biking tours in France and running through the jungle competitions in Central America, others are out sailing in Croatia, skating and going on surfing adventures in like myself.

Since I've had to customize products for them over the years, here are a few winter hair care tips for that can be beneficial to help keep your hair and scalp hydrated.

  • Sulfate Free Cleansers are a must to remove build up without stripping your hair of it's natural oils. TGIN Moisture Rich Sulfate Free Shampoo; The key ingredients are Coconut Oil, Amla Oil (helps prevent hair loss) and Pro Vitamin B5. It's also Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, Lanolin Free and Cruelty Free. This is great for hydrating curly textured hair.




Winter is the season to rebalance your system and boost up those hair treatments with hair supplements that not only will improve your hair growth but has all the good stuff our bodies need... If you're noticing signs of aging hair like greying or thinning because grey hair can change the texture especially when we go through a perimenopausal stage. A hair supplement may be what you need.

2. If you wear protective styles like Braids, Extensions or Hair Weaves, regularly then having Tea Tree Oil would help to keep your scalp normalized, refresh your textured curly hair between washes, in addition to removing salts and dandruff that build up on the scalp when working out.


Those salts can also cause our skin to break out if you're allergic to your own sweat like I am so daily cleansing is a must for me so I use equal parts of Tea Tree Oil and purified water to spray between my scalp to keep it remove bacteria and keep my hair smelling fresh.




3.Cream of Nature Hydrating Treatments are a must for normal hair during the winter months for dry curly hair because it helps to minimize frizz.

4. Everyone needs those extended treatments that not only will have your hair looking and feeling better but also penetrating your strands to give them a deep conditioning.. These are two of my favorites


There are two types of Deep Conditioning Mask and Hot Oil Treatments based on your hair needs. Saturating your hair with one or both of them together for 30 minutes while you scroll thru your favorite social media post or catch up on your favorite tv series with a plastic cap and a hot towel on top to penetrate is a great multi-tasking routine to incorporate 2 or 3 times a Month.
  • Wet your hair with warm water. Pat dry
  • Section hair in 4 parts
  • work in sections to saturate the product thru your hair
  • wrap with a plastic cap and very warm towel to penetrate the product
  • leave on for 20 -30 minutes then rinse...
  • Twist, Braid or Set hair as usual
  • you can take a warm dryer with a diffuser if necessary to get the access water out.
